5 Roof Donations to the Community First! Village in 2019!

Community First! Village is a 51-acre piece of land owned by Mobile Loaves & Fishes. Mobile Loaves & Fishes is a non-profit organization that has food trucks that drive around every day to give the homeless food, clothing, and hygiene products.

Community First! Village has been in the works ever since 2005 and exists to give affordable and permanent housing to people who are disabled and chronically homeless.

In phase I of the village, the community built housing over 27 acres and provided shelter to 200 of the formerly homeless.

Phase II started in fall of 2018, which was when we came on board. Phase II added 24 more acres of housing, which brought the total homes to 500. That year, we donated 3 roofs, which amounted to $7,800.

In 2019, we've given 5 free roofs totaling $20,000 to this project and also installed one roof for Ryan Construction. Austin Roofing and Construction pledges to donate 5 free roofs every year from now on so the community can keep growing and helping the homeless.

To assist the residents even further, we provide free roof repairs and maintenance for all the resident roofs in the Community First! Village. This ensures they stay safe, warm, and dry in their new homes for years to come.

1. Austin Gives

In 2016, we joined a business activist community called Austin Gives. This program is run through the Austin Chamber of Commerce.

Austin Gives businesses donate 1% of their gross income back to the community. Through this alliance, we donate at least 5 new roofs a year!

2. Roofing Austin Weird

We created this non-profit arm of our company back in 2015, specifically dedicated to donating roofs, accessories, and labor to the Austin community. Story Here

3. Other Donations We've Made Over the Years

Here's a small overview of how we've given back throughout the years.

2015

$7,512 Some of the donations include mentoring at Menchaca Elementary, the F7 Group Operations Fundraiser, and the annual Christmas party for the Central Texas Children's Home.

2016

$19,168 We supported the Helping Hand Home for Children, RCAT Toys for Tots, and other organizations.

2017

$16,165 We donated to APIE as a Mentor, Austin Disaster Relief Network, Shriners Kids Circus Austin, American Veterans in Austin, and volunteered time to the Austin Independent Business Alliance.

2018

$19,725 Some groups we helped with include the Ronald McDonald House Central Texas, AMVET, Austin Independent Business Alliance, AGLCC, and the Benaway Scholarship, the Anual New Year Party for the Helping Hand Home for Children & the Annual Christmas party for the Central Texas Children's Home.
